Christmas Collectible
Is it acceptable etiquette for someone to email me an article showing how much something they gave me cost?
My niece gave me a pressed glass candy dish for Christmas. Now every other day I'm getting emails from her where she found the same thing displayed on an antique or collectible Web site showing how much it is worth. To me it's kind of an left-handed way of letting me know the value of the gift.
That is not a good thing...
How old is she? She may just be too young to understand what she is doing.
I once gave a Vintage Mickey Mouse Phone to a friend that is OBSESSED with Disney and I did say that it was Vintage and worth a pretty penny so she would know not to, you know, decide to paint it or throw it out etc.
But there is a HUGE difference between saying "It is worth something..." to let someone know it is special and emailing the price over and over again.
She SHOULD have said "It is antique... Research it if you want." then walked away.
I, personally, think it is in poor taste to constantly show you how much it is worth or how much she spent on it.

Go to Ebay and ask around from people or stores that are in that line of stuff. I find more info on things there than any place else.
